SkateHacks: Maker Meet Skater at KDC
Skateboarding: One of the activities that brings art, creativity, fun and livelihood together. The Kimberley Diamond Cup (KDC) is one of the biggest skating events in Africa and brings over 100 skaters from 50 countries into South Africa for the Skateboarding World Championships.
The world is growing smarter and we need to adapt, Geekulcha has entered into a collaboration with Northern Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDaT) in the Northern Cape, to use skateboarding as a way to attract more youth into Science and Technology.
SkateHacks is an initiative that connects Skaters and Makers to come up with Creative and Innovative ideas to make skateboards smart and cool.
On 07 May, KDC hosted the Midway Mayhem which attracted young skaters from the Kimberley and neighbouring cities to build their journey in becoming the next Nyjah Houston or better world skaters. Once again, the wow factor was there, there is great potential.Damian likes IT and Skateboarding, be like Damian.#iblameGK #KDC #KDCskateplaza #GKSS
