Innov8Makers for Business Sense
In collaboration with The Innovation Hub, the Geekulcha Maker Library Network hosted an event dedicated for Makers. Innov8 is a high-level networking event bringing expert matters and enthusiasts together to discuss best practices, celebrating and accelerating innovation.
This edition of Innov8 was focused on South African MakerSpace ecosystems to help makers connect and make business. Hosted at The Innovation Hub on the 25th of October, Innov8Makers was themed "Making as a tool to accelerate Innovation".

Young Makers from around the province brought their projects for showcase and finding collaborative angles with each other.

It was also important to learn from industry key players such as Mr Don Pitsoe (Open Innovation Specialist), from the Innovation Hub, Ms Lydia Ntlhophi from the City of Ekurhuleni, Dr Vukosi Marivate (Data Scientist) from CSIR and Winstone Jordaan from the Sasol Solar Grid.

The talks were insightful and the audience got to raise their feel about the Maker movement. Sustainability was one of the key issues raised.
