#gkVacWork - Kalahari Youth Hack-a-Skate
The Northern Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism seeks to expand and plug the program in rural communities of the Northern Cape.
The Geekulcha VacWork program takes in a number of high scholars to a real and co-creative working environment, get trained and build projects with ICT tools.

To stimulate the minds of the youngsters, the programme was themed "Innovation of Speed" in line with the Bloodhound Supersonic Car which will grace the Kalahari desert in 2018.
Hack-a-Skate is part of the initiatives driven by Geekulcha and the department. Puting Tech onto skateboards to stimulate more youth interest into Science, Technolgy, Engineering and Mathematics.

On this edition of the VacWork, youngsters were challenged to put tech on the skateboard to innovate with speed.

A group called QNEMS Electronics took the challenge, being mentored by a 3rd-year student, Lloyd Mafoo in building a Most Viable Product. They also had to showcase the Business Model Model Canvas with the project.
