#gkVacWork - A Beginning of a Geek Culture ko Limpopo

Giving Back to the Community is a Value at Mapitsi Holdings – Mapitsi Foundation is the Social Responsibility arm that puts those Values into Action.

In expanding the annual Thagaetala Career and Sports Day activities, Mapitsi Holdings seeks to instil digital skills interest of the learners at Thagaetala Secondary School.

The Geekulcha VacWork program takes in a number of high scholars to a real and co-creative working environment, get trained and build projects with ICT tools.

To stimulate the minds of the youngsters, the programme was themed "We Are Digitally-Empowered" to challenge the youngsters to digitize the community and school.

Supported by mLab Southern Africa, Limpopo Connexion and Shuttleworth Foundation, the VacWork in Limpopo introduced the youngsters to different technologies and build ICT solutions for social problems.

Happening concurrently with the Northern Cape edition, the Limpopo youngsters worked hard to grasp the technologies and build their ideas.

A Tech debate was also hosted to engage the youngsters in digital activities.
