The South African tech ecosystem grows at own pace with various activities taking place on the ground. We need to assess, monitor, nurture, account, guide and forecast the grow of the digital ecosystem. #AutumnDevDays is a 5-day event of Coding creating an enabling environment (online and physical) for local techies to connect and build capacity on their Data skills.

Air Quality in South Africa - Is it that bad?

No doubt, the quality of air in various parts of the country are deterioting and we may end up reaching a point of no report. Greenpeace found the South Africa's Mpumalanga province is the world’s largest air pollution hotspot. Africa Check has something to say about that.

The South African Air Quality Information System (SAAQIS), launched by the Department of Environmental Affairs and the South African Weather Service, is a web-based interactive air quality information system, which provides historical and real-time data on the state of air quality to citizens.

CHALLENGE: Use data to help fight air pollution. Some areas in South Africa such as Emalahleni, Bojanala are ranked as very unhealthy to live in due to air pollution.
